We try to keep this short and honest. The summary: we collect the minimum we need to make ReadingFast work, we never sell your data, and you can delete everything in one email.
What we collect
- Account. Your email, your display name, and a hashed password. We never see your password in plaintext.
- Training data. Reading-speed scores, comprehension answers, sessions completed, streaks, achievements.
- Payment information. Handled entirely by Dodo Payments, our Merchant of Record. We see your customer ID, plan, and subscription status — we never see or store your credit-card details.
- Anonymous speed test. If you take the free test on the landing page without an account, no data leaves your browser unless you choose to sign up.
How we use it
- To provide the training service — drills, progress, dashboard.
- To track your improvement and adapt your training plan.
- To send training reminders, but only if you've opted in.
- To improve the product based on aggregate, non-identifying usage patterns.
- To respond to your support requests.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your data to anyone, ever.
- We don't share your personal reading data publicly.
- We don't use your data to target ads — we don't run any.
- We don't allow third-party advertising trackers on the site.
Cookies
We use a small set of essential cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences (theme, baseline test result).
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors discover and use the site — page views, traffic sources, and broad usage patterns. Google Analytics may set its own cookies. You can opt out via your browser settings, or via Google's official opt-out browser add-on.
Data storage
Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure with industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. Backups are taken regularly.
Data deletion
You can request full deletion of your account and data at any time by emailing support@readingfast.com. We delete within 30 days of receiving the request. Some billing records may be retained as required by law.
Payment data
All subscription payments are processed by Dodo Payments as our Merchant of Record. They handle card storage, fraud prevention, and PCI-DSS compliance. ReadingFast never stores credit-card information on its own systems.
Children
ReadingFast is not intended for users under 13. If we learn we've collected personal data from a child under 13, we delete it.
Changes to this policy
If anything material changes, we'll email you at the address on your account before the new policy takes effect.
